Little did I know growing up as a little girl in Virginia Beach, VA playing
with my sand toys on the beach on many weekends, that I was lucky
enough to have been born into a very artistic family.

My art path was not paved, just yet until much
later on when I reached my preteen years.    It
was at that time, that I took art classes for the
six years I was in middle school and high school.

My father Bill, mother Cecelia, and brother
Greg, illustrated for me, the way to my creative
path and enthusiasm.  Each family member had
an interest in various forms of art, such as
    painting in oil,
acrylic and watercolor, drawing with pastels and ink, knitting,
needlepoint, building models of rockets, airplanes, ships, and even
inventing a seasoning product for cooking.

I really began my adult life in art as a hobby with pen and ink doing
murals and graffiti style images on poster boards. I spent several years
making handcrafted jewelry and showcasing those creations on my
jewelry website.  My desire to paint began about ten years ago, when I
started dabbling in painting designs on terracotta pots, light switches,
ceramic tiles, etc...Then I discovered the joy of painting on canvas, and
from that point, I kept painting one after another, after another, after
another.

Looking back, as long as I can remember, I have always loved creating
unique art with all kinds of materials.  Those materials not only man-
made, but also found in nature.   I believe that is what led me in the
direction of preferring abstract art as my main creative interest.

I prefer abstract art because it's so spontaneous without limits. You don't
have to have a set plan, you just create what comes naturally with the
thoughts, feelings, atmosphere, music and the materials in front of you.
The whole process of beginning with a blank canvas and transition, step-
by-step to a spectacular creation and standing back and saying to
yourself, " I created that!" is so personally inspiring and uplifting.

I enjoy creating art with lots of texture and collage art as well. There has
always been an interest in creating depth, with a raised structure as well
as integrating materials together in a sea of design.

In my own art, I see a unique variety of abstract range.  There are times
that I am very detailed with patterns or geometrical shapes and other
times I used broader washes of color with little detail, borders or shapes.

In the past year, there has been increased interest in my art, so I
developed several personal websites and I also currently list abstract art
for sale on numerous online venues. On those various venues you can
find originals, some prints in many sizes and on some websites, I have
items for sale that have my art printed on them. I am very dedicated to
expanding my art abilities, in design and subject, as well as continuing to
develop my market.

As a developing self-taught artist,  my dream is that in the future, my
original art as well as reprints of all my original art, will be displayed
proudly  in an endless number of homes, and offices in the  U.S. and
abroad and that I will develop satisfied clients who will return to buy my
art for a long time to come
.
My Studio is located in Virginia, along with my loving and
very supportive husband, Jeffrey Bauguess, and our kitty cat “Bubbles”

About The
Artist
My Home Art Studio

Although I have a very cozy, well
equipped Art Studio with a view, it's
not uncommon to find me in any part
of the house painting. Sometimes, the
lighting, the mood, the temperature,
can all affect where I want to be when
I paint.

Although I have painted many
paintings on an easel, I prefer to paint
flat. Sometimes so flat that I have
painted one of my very best paintings
on the living room floor and used my
mantel as my desktop for supplies.

My studio consists of a utility sink,
several bookcases of paint, A very
large art table, a t.v, a stereo,, a
computer, photography equipment,
and all of my art media such as art
DVD's art magazines, art books, and
let's not forget it's also storage for all
of my artwork. So sometimes it;s nice
to get out of there and venture into a
different area.

My supplies consists of oil pastels,
fabric paints, fabric markers,
watercolors, acrylics, inks, stencils,
hundreds of brushes, rollers,
diffusers, spray bottles, tons of water
jars, varnish, and other very cool
mediums, like sand, glass beads,
gesso, gels, modeling pastes...It's just
full of fun stuff.
