Never did I realize, when I was a little girl, sitting on the warm sand in Virginia Beach, VA playing with my sand toys, that I was lucky enough to have been born into a very artistic family. Although my art path was not paved until much later on in my preteen years.

During the six years I was in middle school and high school, I took Art Class every single year. My father, Bill mother Cecelia, and brother Greg, illustrated for me the way to my creative enthusiasm.
|
Each family member had an interest in various forms of art, such as painting in oil, acrylic and watercolor, drawing with pastels and ink, knitting, needlepoint, building models of rockets, airplanes, ships, and even inventing his very own seasoning product for cooking.

I really began my adult life in art as a hobby with pen and ink doing murals, drawings and graffiti style images on poster boards. One of my greatest influences who inspired me to create was a great friend of mine named Jason Asble he was as creative as five artists wrapped into one. He could draw, paint, sing, dance, write music & poetry.

Influences like him set forth a pattern of experimentation. My desire to paint began about six years ago, when I started dabbling in painting designs on terracotta pots, light switches, etc...then I discovered the joy of painting.

I started creating jewelry back in the early nineties when fantastic plastic hit the market. For those of you who don't know what that it is. It was colorful squares of plastic that you could cut and make jewelry designs by baking them in the oven and when they came out of the oven, you could do a bunch of things while still hot to make designs in hot plastic.
I know it sounds strange, but it was a blast. In 2004, I decided I wanted to pursue beading and also to create a website and showcase those creations on the world web wide.

I have always loved the freedom it gives me to create something interesting and unique from a blank slate. It's such a such an inspiration during the process and at the end result, to stand by and say, I created that!

When I start painting on a new blank canvas or begin spinning together a new handcrafted piece of jewelry, I never know where my creative ways will take me. I don't usually have a preset plan of action or any particular design on paper or even in my head. It depends a lot on the mood I am in at the time. I love to play with color and forms, it seems to bring out my inner self and the creativity. I get a lot of inspiration in the direction my creativity will flow towards from music. Music always has a magical way of directing my hands and my imagination to create each piece, just as if a conductor in a symphony.
